CIRCLE,SQUARE applies conceptual thinking and design to reveal new possibilities —
creating practical solutions to contemporary issues with curiosity, optimism, and a sense of play.
Michael Shadovitz moved to Japan in 2009, living in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and now Osaka.
During his years at Panasonic Design, he worked to expand the role of design beyond products —
using conceptual thinking to explore new subjects, challenge established approaches, and create meaningful change.
In the spring of 2026, he founded CIRCLE,SQUARE to continue that work independently,
applying design as a tool to rethink the way we live and respond to the challenges of a changing society.
CIRCLE,SQUAREは、コンセプチュアルな思考とデザインを通して、新しい可能性を見出します。
現代社会が抱える課題に対し、好奇心と前向きな視点、そして遊び心を大切にしながら、実践的な解決策を提案します。
マイケル・シャドヴィッツは2009年に来日し、福岡、東京を経て、現在は大阪を拠点に活動しています。
パナソニック デザイン在籍時には、プロダクトデザインにとどまらず、コンセプトデザインや新たなテーマの探求を通して、
デザインの役割そのものを広げる取り組みに携わってきました。既存の価値観やアプローチを問い直し、
社会に新しい視点をもたらすプロジェクトを数多く手がけています。
2026年春、その活動をさらに発展させるため、CIRCLE,SQUAREを設立。 デザインを思考の手段として用いながら、
変化する社会や暮らしに向き合い、新たな可能性をかたちにする活動を続けています。
